A bride can be described as woman who will be about to be married or perhaps who has recently been married. The word is often accustomed to refer to the female partner in a marriage, but in some cases it may be used for the groom.

The word „bride“ is derived from the Old English bryd, this means „a young person who has been promised or assured to be married. “ It is related to Western Frisian breid, Dutch bruid, The german language Braut, Swedish and Danish brud.

In lots of cultures, the bridegroom makes a payment known as dowry to his forthcoming wife’s family. This kind of payment can include livestock, money, products, or different valuables.
